Health and wellness are essential, and we understand how difficult it can be when things you’re struggling due to ill health. Friends of Hudson’s Hope offer a number of programs which help support the health and wellbeing of our community.
Prescription Drug Financial Aid
When you’re unwell, your first priority should be your recovery, not worrying about if you can afford essential medication. Especially if you are unable to work due to your illness or injury, we know costs can add up quickly.
We provide financial aid for low income individuals who find themselves in need of prescription drugs or medical devices not covered by your MSP, PharmaCare, Supplemental Health insurance, or other subsidy programs. We also offer assistance in finding additional programs, subsidies, grants, or financial assistance which may be available to you to help reduce your burden.
Financial aid is considered on a case-by-case basis, reviewed regularly, and offered according to your particular needs and ability to pay. We may be able to cover some, or all of your out-of-pocket prescription expenses. Please be aware, we may need some information from your healthcare provider in order to assess your claim for financial aid. To expedite this process, you may want to download and submit a “Authorization for Disclosure of Medical Record Information” to your prescribing doctor or healthcare provider prior to making a request for financial aid.
In order to request financial aid for prescription drugs, or other medical devices, please contact us, and we can provide you with application forms, and set up a time to review your claim.
For emergency (one time) aid authorization, please ask PharmaSave to contact us directly.
Medic Alert
For elderly and infirm patients, we provide assistance in accessing medic-alert pendants (push button/slip-and-fall) for qualified patients. Medic-alert systems provide peace of mind for the finds and family of patients who may be at home alone for extended periods of time, and may need a quick response in the event of an emergency. Monitored systems ensure that in the event of a slip-and-fall or other medical, or non-medical emergency, putting them in immediate contact with call operators, who can assist the client, contact their named responders (friends or family) on their behalf, or dispatch emergency services.
We may be able to provide ongoing free or subsidized access to these systems, or a one-time or annual grant to help lighten the financial load, depending on your individual needs and circumstances.
