We are now able to accept donations for our thrift store again, however please respect that we still have limited space in our store. To ensure that we can keep on top of this, please be advised that the following limits are in place:
- All donations must be dropped off in person, and handed over to our volunteers during our store opening hours.
- Please do not, under any circumstances, leave donations at our front door, back door, or in the laundromat. This is considered illegal dumping and/or littering, and is punishable under the BC ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ACT.
- A maximum of one grocery sized bag of mixed clothing will be accepted per household, per visit. We cannot accept large garbage bags of clothing, or multiple bags of clothing at this time. If you have larger donations of clothing please contact us first.
- Please ensure clothing, toys, puzzles and games is clean, complete, free of damage, and in saleable condition. As a rule of thumb… please donate items in the same condition you would be willing to buy them in.
- We can continue to accept other individual items, such as homeware, kitchenware, small electronics and appliances, etc. subject to our storage and display space limits.
Please also be aware, due to federal and provincial regulations, Thrift stores are unable to accept or sell any of the following items:
- Banned Items — including Baby Walkers and Lawn Darts. (For a full list see Schedule 2 of Canada Consumer Product Safety Act)
- Regulated Products — including Bassinets, Cradles, Cribs, play pens, and Children’s Beds; Car Seats; Strollers; Children’s Jewelry; Corded window coverings.
- Products not subject to product-specific regulations — including Safety Helmets (inc. hockey, ski/snowboard, bike, skating, riding, and workplace safety helmets); Children’s clothing with Drawstrings; Infant High Chairs; Infant Bath Seats and Rings; Portable Bed Rails
Due to health and safety, also do not accept open or used cosmetics, hygiene products, underwear, etc.
If in doubt, please contact us before bringing anything in.
