We want to express our gratitude for the overwhelming support and generosity you have all shown towards the Friends of Hudson’s Hope Thrift Store. Your donations have been instrumental in keeping our store going and providing a great selection of items for our customers, and visitors regularly comment on how well stocked we are, and how generous our small town truly is.

We are sincerely thankful for the donations we have received. Unfortunately, until further notice, we have had to make the difficult decision to temporarily suspend further general donations

This is in part due to the recent closure of our community Share Shed which has resulted in an influx of donations. However, after assessing the backlog, we are currently unable to accept general donations of bagged clothing or household items. Our small team of volunteers is working tirelessly to sort through the existing donations, and get the items out for sale but until then, we do not have enough space to store or display items for sale.

We appreciate your understanding during this time. Rest assured, we will continue to work hard to ensure that as many items as possible find new homes through our regular “Bag Day” sales. 

Although we cannot accept general donations, we may be able to accept certain, specific one-off items. If you have such items that you would like to donate during this time, please reach out to us first to discuss whether we can accept them. 

We will update you as soon as we are able to accept general donations again, which we anticipate should happen around the same time the Share Shed reopens.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that during this time, and also once we are able to accepting donations again, items should never be left outside on the doorstep, or in the Laundromat. Donations must only be delivered during store opening hours, and we request that you always inform one of our volunteers you are making a donation before leaving them in the store.
