We operate a year round community food bank, providing food for individuals and families in times of need and crisis.
Our food bank is available for anyone in need of short-term relief from hunger, due to crisis, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances. We provides monthly food hampers, including fresh meat and produce, and store cupboard essentials, providing a nutritious and filling food for the hungry.
There is an old saying — Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish, and he will eat for a lifetime. Food banks are designed as a short term response to a particular need need, and are not meant for long term management of hunger, and so we also aim to work with clients to provide access to additional skills and resources that will help clients address these needs in a sustainable manner.

We are in the process of partnering with BC Food Banks to streamline and standardize our eligibility and intake requirements, and access additional resources. As such, please be aware that our intake and application process may change over the coming months.
Eligibility and Application Process.
In order to expedite your claim, please be ready to provide as much of the following as possible:
- Proof of identity
- Details of your financial need or hardship, inc. referrals from third party agencies or organizations if available.
- Proof of income and regular expenses (eg, bank statements, utility bills, rental agreements, etc.).
- Proof of address or residency within the District of Hudson’s Hope.
- Evidence for any family/dependants.
- Any specific dietary requirements you or your dependents have.
Please be aware, due to staff and volunteer availability, it may take up to 2 weeks to process your application, and hamper collection may be limited to certain dates or times. After your initial hamper, application for subsequent regular food hampers will be provided in accordance with our Frequency of Service policies which we will detail during your initial application.
If you are a new client and require an emergency (first-time) food hamper quickly, or are an existing client who requires an additional (one time) emergency hamper due to a particular unforeseen crisis, please contact either our president or vice president to discuss your situation, and we will do our best to assist you if possible.
