Living in the north, patients are often referred to larger population centres for specialist diagnosis and treatment. High costs of travel and accommodation or lack of available transport options, can sometimes result in patients delaying or avoiding necessary treatment or diagnostic services.
If you or a loved one has been referred for specialist diagnostics or treatment in a larger city, but you are struggling with the cost of travel, accommodation, or simply finding it hard to arrange these things for yourself, the Friend of Hudson’s Hope may be able to help.
We may be able to help arrange transport, book accommodation, or provide travel bursaries to help you or your loved ones get the medical support they need. We can also help you access available Northern Health travel and accommodation options, and accommodation provided by other charities and organizations.
Please contact us to discuss what we may be able to do to help.
